Stitch these adorable envelope quilt blocks using charm packs, oh, sew perfectly, all-in-the-hoop using the magic of machine embroidery.
Quickly cut four charm pack squares with a minimum of measuring, hoop a stabilizer, and add the pieces one by one… a ten-minute stitch out! Trim out right on a stitched guideline. Three block sizes are included to fit 5x7, 6x10 and 7x11 hoops.
Enjoy picking fabrics for blocks with different combinations of colors... pair small and large scale prints, stitch together floral fabrics with geometrics, and use contrasting colors as well. The blocks come together quickly-- a great project to experiment while developing your color sense!
Use your blocks in any way that you would use a regular quilt block: pillows, table runners, lap quilts, and more. Consider using novelty Halloween, Fourth of July, or St. Patrick’s fabric for your envelopes—this block would also be tailor made for a Christmas card themed project. Pick novelty fabrics for a special interest—such as baseball, beach, or bees. A special “Happy Birthday” project could be made with balloon or cake fabrics—there is a fabric for everything these days! Or use white or a light solid fabric for the interior of all of your envelopes—then have friends and family “sign” the blocks like an old-fashioned charm quilt for a wedding, birthday, friendship, or going away quilt.
